Since opening our first home in North Carolina over twenty years ago, we have proudly served a diverse range of special needs populations, including youth aging out of foster care, juveniles, domestic violence survivors, single mothers and fathers, and low-income families. For the past decade, our commitment to providing safe, affordable, and all-inclusive living environments extended to the State of Delaware, where our properties and services have been recognized for their exceptional quality.

As we embark on the next chapter of our journey, we are excited to announce our strategic relocation to South Carolina. Our Delaware operations have officially concluded, making way for the opening of our first South Carolina location in FY 2025. With further expansions planned through branch locations and partnerships between FY 2025-2027, we are poised to continue our legacy of excellence and innovation in new regions.

Although the exact date of establishment and specific location are yet to be determined, our mission remains clear: to create empowering, supportive environments that foster resilience and independence for those in need. Before I came to Dunamis I was in a residential place called KidsPeace where I had to be monitored daily due to anxiety, self-harm, depression and suicidal thoughts. Since moving into independent living my mental health state has improved and self-harm and suicidal thoughts has decreased. I have also cut back on my medication while at Dunamis. Dunamis is helping me obtain and complete my high school diploma, to become self-sufficient and job search. The workshops help me become interview ready and independent in so many ways.

Before I came to Dunamis I was depressed and underweight. I wasn’t eating and couldn’t eat because I had nothing to look forward to in life. I went to Dover Behavioral Health because of my adopted mother and boyfriend but after the storm I had ask for a place to live which was a transitional housing. Now that I am with Dunamis, I am now healthy, happy and have gained back weight. Dunamis has taught me to be independent. I have gotten my high school diploma, a driving permit, obtained employment and on the way to having my second job all thanks to Dunamis. It has changed my whole life around by making one decision which was choosing Dunamis. I am so thankful and grateful for having this program.
